Rival Report 1/21: Future first basemen, Madson is official, and Counsell’s career review released its top 10 first baseman prospects list today, which quickly became the top link on many NL Central team’s home pages. End of the Year Rival Report

Happy New Year, baseball fans! In preparation for the New Year, I went was following each NL Central team, putting together one Rival Report for each day of this first week. Originally, I planned on mentioning each team’s stories once per week, until I decided it made more sense to just cover the top stories every day.
